New Firearm Injury Prevention Training Course

This new course, developed by the AAP is designed to help build health care practitioner counseling skills in firearm injury prevention. The course contains 6 provider - patient scenarios, as well as educational materials focused on demonstrating how health care providers can deliver firearm injury prevention counseling in the office setting. It really is a comprehensive training that takes about 45 minutes. Anyone can take part in the course - it is great additional training for any of us. Plus, you can receive MOC Part 2 credit! For a limited time, the AAP is studying the training - any medical student, resident, or clinician, regardless of AAP membership, can participate in the study. Study participants will be requested to complete 3 brief (5-10 minute) surveys: Pre-course survey, post-course survey, and one-month follow-up survey. Eligible participants will receive up to $30 in Amazon gift cards for completing the study.
